Would you like to steer IOU into a new phase, strengthening our position as the North’s leading Creation Centre for Art, Engineering, and Technology?

In January 2024, our current Chair, Tudor Gwynn, will step down after successfully leading the company into a new phase of development. We are now in search of a dynamic Chair and are expanding our Board of Trustees.

As the Chair, your role is to guide IOU into a new phase, establishing our position as the North’s leading Creation Centre for Art, Engineering, and Technology. You will lead the Board of Trustees, offer guidance to our Chief Executive, and champion the organisation. We seek an individual with a passion for contemporary art, a strong commitment to IOU’s mission, vision, and values, practical skills, and the willingness to invest time and effort in supporting IOU while actively participating in leadership and business development.

We are also seeking new Trustees with expertise in legal matters, finance, disability and access, heritage and archiving, as well as experience in contemporary arts and emerging freelance artists and producers.

We warmly welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds and all sectors of society.
